About Lamont Awards
Lamont Awards and Apparel started as LaMont Wood Products in 1970. We were local suppliers of all walnut related products to the Award dealers in the Western New York area. It wasn't very long until our demand far exceeded our output.
We decided that the profitability of selling completed awards, as opposed to wholesale trophy bases and plaques, was better for our future. We closed our wholesale business in 1972 and incorporated as Lamont Awards and Apparel and Sporting Goods, Inc.
We moved to Spencerport, New York and took over an 800 square foot location. We built all of our awards in-house and sold printed T-shirts, jerseys, etc. to sports' teams. We found it very difficult to depend on our garment printers to get our orders to us on time...so we rented another 400 square feet and set up our own silk screening operation.
We believe that the recognition business is based on presentation. We secured the services of an interior designer, Cheryl Boughter, to design a facility that would support this belief. The location we now occupy is, we believe, one of the largest, professionally displayed Recognition Facilities in New York State.
